Forgive me!

Hello lovelies, please forgive my not posting since Monday! I've been exhausted! I do have fun stuff coming though! I got a book in the mail called "How to Never Look Fat Again -over 1000 ways to dress thinner without dieting!" This book is awesome- I'll give you a review! I also got a trial pack of Proactiv.  I know, not the greenest product out there, but I'm going to have S1 test it out, since he is hitting adolesence.  eek! Thanks for hanging in there with me. This first trimester exhaustion should be going away soon.  :)

Wraptastic! (new wrap!)

OK, new wraps may not be all that exciting to the general population but let me tell you that for the discerning babywearer, fluffy mail is all we can think about from the moment we hit 'send' on a purchase.  The wrap just landed at my house is called the Rastamama, made by Girasol and from what I understand, it was commissoned for mamas in Russia. It was not mass produced by Girasol at all and I think there are less than 30 rolling around the entire globe! How cool is that! I am so excited to have this lovely in my hands.  It will be my other legacy wrap (alongside my pink and green Didymos Ellipsen- you know I had to have my pink and green!)

So, here is the newest addition to my obsession. Er, I mean my collection:

And we have a heartbeat!

I  interviewed my final midwife today and after a lovely conversation and jokes about belly fat, she offered to see if we could hear the baby's heartbeat.  It took some doppler moves and a some time, but we heard it! I started to giggle and we lost it, but the baby is there and sounds strong! I told my mom that we are planing on doing a homebirth and her first reaction (in a Jamaican accent) was 'really? wow!'  She asked why and I reminded her about how quick my labor and delivery was with S3.  Then she went on about how I don't have risky pregnancies anyway and that she could understand wanting to be in a familiar environment and be able to sleep in my own bed.   I was pleasantly surprised at her positivity and support.  She then asked where the rest of the kidlets would be when I go into labor and I told her that they would be in the house and it would be up to them if they wanted to see the birth.  I don't think my teenage son would want to be in on this, but I could be mistaken.  We'll see! So yay Mom! I believe I have made my midwife decision and will be calling to set up care next week. :)

See anything different

in my profile?  Yes lovelies, we are expecting #4 in September.  Predictions have already started rolling in and I am only about 8 weeks along.  Goodness! LOL. We are planning to have a homebirth.  Hubby said that he is cool with a homebirth as long as he gets to wear scrubs! I've been interviewing midwives and will make a decision by the end of this week. I am looking forward to having this baby at home because it means I won't have to spend any nights in an uncomfortable hospital bed with people (other than the new baby) waking me up at all hours of the night! Have you had a home birth? Please feel free to share your experiences!

Free stuff Wednesday!!!

I dub today 'Free stuff Wednesday' because I scored free stuff today!!!! First, I went to Starbucks to see about getting some of their coffee grinds for an inservice that I am presenting on Friday.  As I am walking up to the counter, one of the Baristas turns the corner with a tray of uber pretty cupcakes.  Would I like one? Of course!!!  (the cupcake had a chunk of chocolate on top, but let's just say that the chunk didn't make it home).  So I walked out of Starbucks with a free bag of grinds and a free cupcake!! woot!
Then, I cashed in at Pilot (a big gas station for truckers) for a free box of Revolution Tea. I think I got the coupon from a link on It's Hip to Save.  Have you ever tried this tea? It's yummy.

Yay for freebies!

Did you score anything fun today at the store or in your mailbox?

I've totally been slacking!

Have you been working on your Love Dare? I have not been nearly as diligent as I've wanted to be.  I've been slacking- bad!!  The Love Dare ends on Sunday (Valentine's Day).  I'm gonna have to get the book and start over because I think there is value in putting serious time and thought into one's relationship with God as well  personal relationships.

So really- how have you been doing with your Love Dare?   No judging here! promise! :)

Pants on the ground guy, Bill Cosby and me.

What do these folks have in common?  None of us want to see anyone's butt where pants should be!  Don't get me wrong- I have love baggy jeans, however when I can see your boxers, gym shorts or even (shudder) your thong,  I try not to lose my cool.  But it's not just baggy jeans!  Teens are sagging their pants in skinny jeans as well!  Thank goodness I have enough self control not to yell 'no one wants to see your butt' or 'how are you able to walk properly with your pants halfway down your thighs?' or or something worse.  Today I drove past a couple of teens whose sense of fashion grated my eyeballs with this ridiculousness.  Both of them had on jeans at their thighs, with belts on.  As they walked of course they had to hold their pants up with one hand, which completely defeats the purpose of the belt! Honestly!! There must be some sort of secret to be able to walk/function like this.  Do I feel this way about this topic because I am getting older? I don't think so because I have never wanted to see 'butt cleavage' (covered or uncovered) at any point in my life.  What kind of message do you think this 'jeans at the thigh' look is sending? Do you think it's just a fad?
